W35 Tiny Homes: A Viable Housing Alternative?
Tiny Homes are an interesting housing model that has piqued the interest of many developers, individuals, municipalities and social housing authorities as a potential solution to affordable housing, homeownership, independent living and a minimalist style of living. However, it raises the questions: Is the form viable? Does it meet code? How does it fit into the municipal framework? Is it affordable? And to whom does this lifestyle appeal? BC Housing, BC Tiny House Collective and Light House will present findings from a technical research report recently completed that will uncover how tiny homes fit in the BC context.
