Project Summary

Working closely with Cobalt Engineering, Light House prepared and delivered a one-day visioning workshop for staff and consultants for expansion of the Tucson Convention Center expansion in Arizona. The proposal includes a 35,000 sqft exhibit hall expansion and 25,000 sqft meeting room addition, necessary associated HVAC and life safety improvements; totaling 118,000 sqft. Additionally, a 525 room Sheraton branded full service Convention Headquarters Hotel is proposed with approximately 50,000 sqft of meeting rooms, fitness centre, pool, spa, bar, café, restaurant and business centre; totaling 442,000 sqft. The project is a pilot for the City of Tucson’s green building strategy, incorporating high standards in water conservation and low-carbon energy solutions. Light House led the session comprising 32 executives and project leaders, defining project goals, gaining commitment across all groups for environmental improvements and summarizing session outcomes in a concise report to be shared across the project team and community leaders.
